LeapFive Participated in the Seminar on

“Electromechanical Technology Innovation and

Integration into the National Smart Carbon Reduction Series – Important Issues Facing Macau”

On April 18th, a seminar with the theme of “Electromechanical Technology Innovation and Integration into the National Smart Carbon Reduction Series – An Important Issue for Macao” was held at the Macao Science Center, organized by the Macao Institution of Engineers.

The seminar aimed to discuss the application of electromechanical technology innovation in the National Smart Carbon Reduction Program and how Macau can fully utilize these technologies to address the current energy and environmental challenges.

Over 20 industry experts and engineers from Macau’s gaming companies and government departments were invited to participate in the event.  The main guests included Sio Chi Veng, Chairman of the Macau Institute of Engineers, Vice-Chairmen Chao Chi Kin and Lai Kin Weng; Lou Sam Cheong, Director of the Energy Development and Management Department of the Macau Environmental Protection Bureau; Maggie W. I. Mak, Senior Manager of Sustainable Development of Wynn Macau Limited; Ng Chi Seng, Vice President of Asset Management and Lei Chon Kio, Analyst of the Sustainable Development Department of Sands China Limited; Leong Wai Hung, Assistant Project Manager (Building Equipment); Bernard Cheng, Director of the Sustainable Development Department of Macau Gaming Holdings Limited; and Cheong Hung Fat, Deputy Director of the Macau Science Museum.  As well as Dr. Aglaia Kong, CEO&CTO of Guangdong LeapFive Technology Co., Ltd., and Senior Engineer Yao Guofeng from China Electric Power Research Institute were invited to give keynote speeches.

Dr. Aglaia Kong and Senior Engineer Yao Guofeng gave keynote speeches on “Artificial Intelligence Energy Saving and Carbon Reduction” and “Introduction of Methods for National Intelligent Carbon Reduction”, respectively.

Participants had extensive discussions on topics such as “Intelligent Carbon Reduction Technology and Development Trends in Macau” and “How to Inject New Energy into Macau’s Development through Electromechanical Technology Innovation.”

The two keynote speakers believed that given the current distribution of electricity use in Macau, it has the conditions to take a leading position in the goal of “carbon neutrality.” Considering that over ten provinces in China have already set targets for “carbon neutrality,” Macau could also establish special policies in line with the national policies.

The Macau Institution of Engineers has awarded Dr. Aglaia Kong a certificate of appreciation

This seminar provided a platform for communication and learning for the industry, allowing participants to gain a deeper understanding of the national policy of intelligent carbon reduction and its impact on the development of Macau.
