Applications | LeapFive Technology BF2 Chip Applications

 

The LeapFive® LF686 is a highly integrated Wi-Fi/BLE chip positioned ultra-low cost and low power consumption for wireless connectivity applications in the IoT. 
 Its core comes from the world’s first Wi-Fi/BLE combined function chip design based on RISC-V.

So far, the BF2 chips are mainly involved in the smart home appliance industry and the industrial IoT industry.
Smart Appliance Industry
Smart home appliances are the basis for achieving the intelligence of the whole house.  The overall market size of 435.4 billion CNY in 2020, and a CAGR of 20% in the past four years.  It is expected that the overall scale will exceed 800 billion CNY in 2050.  Among them, smart home appliances have the largest scale, reaching 282.2 billion CNY.  In 2020, the smart home market will enter the scene, mainly due to the improvement of AIoT and wireless communication technology, which improves the usability of smart home products, as well as the cost reduction of WiFi modules and sensors, which makes product prices easier to be accepted by consumers. The aftermarket installed model and open-source ecological cooperation, and technology empowerment model is the focus of future development.  In the smart home appliance industry, BF2 mainly empowers traditional home appliance Wi-Fi module applications, microwave ovens master control applications, and smart light strip applications.BF2 is used in traditional home appliance Wi-Fi modules, integrates dual-mode Wi-Fi/BLE, and provides App control and voice solutions.  Currently, it has been certified by platforms such as JD.com, Alibaba, and Tuya.BF2 is used in the microwave ovens master control application, integrates dual-mode WiFi/BLE, and passes the microwave leakage test (microwave intensity (10mw/m3), frequency 2.45G).  The advantage of LeapFive’s solution is that it has both the master control function to achieve cost reduction; and it can adapt to strong interference and high temperature environments.

Industrial IoT Industry
The Industrial IoT is the continuous integration of various acquisition and control sensors/controllers with sensing and monitoring capabilities, as well as mobile communication, intelligent analysis, and other technologies into the industrial production process, thereby significantly improving manufacturing efficiency, improving product quality, reducing product costs and resource consumption, and ultimately realizing the upgrading of traditional industries to a new stage of intelligence.  The Industrial IoT has been included in the government work report for five consecutive years.  Up to now, the development of China’s Industrial IoT has gradually changed from the governmented to the application demand.  The application of BF2 in the Industrial IoT is mainly reflected in blockchain enabled smart meter and IoT data acquisition devices.BF2 is used in blockchain enabled smart meter.  In this solution, the core module LF-WM03 is applied, which integrates dual-mode Wi-Fi/BLE, and integrates smart light bulbs, smart sockets, temperature and humidity sensors, and light sensors to collect electricity consumption information into the App, used to display power consumption and remote control, also supplemented by a blockchain solution to achieve distributed data recording and storage.  This solution is mainly based on chip-level blockchain solution to be applied in various complex electricity scenarios, which can be used for statistical display and overall control of power.

The application of BF2 in IoT data acquisition devices integrates dual-mode Wi-Fi and uses chip-level data link encryption technology to ensure data security.
